Before I started anything, I needed to build the strongback. A strongback is just a straight, level platform for building a boat. If you own a copy of Canoecraft, this will look familiar. It is constructed from 2 sheets of 3/4" MDF and is 15' long. The strongback had a crown of about 1/4" in the middle, however this was negated when I attached the forms for the mold.
